I am going to race into Winnipeg on Thursday night to attend the Manitoba Edubloggercon. This is a preconference event sponsored by ManAce. There are some very accomplished bloggers that will be leading the discussion. Darren Kuropatwa, Clarence Fisher, Chris Harbeck, John Evans. I will try to live blog the discussion, maybe Twitter! There are 50-60 people registered.
A live blog would be fabulous! I think Lili is presenting there as well.

WOW… Now I’m wishing that I was going. This seems like it would be very applicable to that which we are taking at present. I, on the other hand, have decided to stay at home and work on my ICT course. We can squeeze this in under the umbrella of our “Professional Learning Group”. Our group, of the many we do have in MLSD, is concerned with the development, education and retention of administrators here in Thompson. It is our belief that if we cannot keep those whom we hire from elsewhere, then it best to start growing our own. All within in our group,but me, are currently in administration. I, once was, and maybe(maybe), again someday, I think…
I was also given the opportunity to work on the ICT course rather than travel to SAG (most people from m ley division will go to LIFT). This was too good an opportunity! I get to meet my Learning Network f2f! I attended the first Edubloggercon in Atlanta at NECC this past summer. At the time I didn’t realize what I had stumbled into – it was a preconference event. The idea has taken off and when the MB Bloggers decided to hold an event I couldn’t resist. I am going to look back in my notes from Atlanta and make a post.

I’m off to SAG on Friday and I’m registered for the EDUBloggercon. It’s going to be pretty tight making it Thursday night. I have meetings all day in Brandon and then I’m going to the Warhol exhibit at the WAG with another teacher (a commitment made long ago.) Since there won’t be time to eat I’m hoping that we can make it to the EDUBloggercon and eat and drink when we get there. My SAG conference is kind of a geeky one – Dynamic Websites PHP/MySQL through ManACE. What conference are you going to?
